A BILL to remove the Welch Natural Gas Cooperative from all Public Service Commission rate making and fee imposition, oversight and control, except safety inspection.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
WELCH NATURAL GAS COOPERATIVE.
§1. Welch Natural Gas Cooperative removed from Public Service Commission oversight and control.
The Public Service Commission shall not impose rates or fees of any kind upon the Welch Natural Gas Cooperative. The Commission, however, shall continue to conduct safety inspections and enforce all safety regulations to which the Welch Natural Gas Cooperative has heretofore been subject.


NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to remove the Welch Natural Gas Cooperative from the Public Service Commission's authority to set rates and impose fees. The PSC remains responsible for enforcement of safety standards.
